I was in a program few weeks ago, we had a moment of rejoicing in the Holy Ghost. Everyone was shouting, jumping, dancing, and moving around the church excitedly. The noise was much, but it was that of joy. The house was full of joyful noises around. Oh! What a joyful moment!
As I was also dancing, singing, and moving around excitedly, my eyes caught a child resting peacefully, undisturbed, and unmoved in her couch. She was sleeping conveniently that I wondered how she was not affected by so much noise around. Even in her sleep, she looks so beautiful with zero worries.
That really got into my thought, and I was meditating on it. God used that to minister to me relating to many people.
In life endeavor, even as Christians, many things go on in our environment, many voices will come trying to replace the voice of God. Many situations occur looking like God’s plan, but they are the devil’s plan. Many advice about your condition will be given.
But there’s a weapon God has given to us which we are to dwell in. There’s an assurance he has revealed to us, and a reality He has made known to us which is to rest in Him and His words. Scriptures have been given to us to rest on, just like the child resting on the couch.
When voices brood over you, when many words come to you against God’s word, when situations are playing against what God promised you, always do this one thing; Remember His Word for you and rest in it.
That is how you can be calm in the midst of the storm. It is His Word that can give you rest when others are panicking. His Word gives you the right direction when others are going astray. When others behold impossibility, you behold possibility in His Word when you come to the place of resting in Him.
Do you remember the incident of the storm?
Everyone kept panicking which is quite the usual thing most people would do. However, it was recorded that Jesus was resting peacefully in the boat when His disciples were frightened.
God said in His word “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Rest is an invitation from Christ. An invitation to be in His rest by ‘coming’.
It is when you come that you have the rest, even in the shadow of death( in your tough challenges), He made provision for your rest already. This world is full of many things that will devastate you. You can’t do it on your own. Come into His rest!
In God’s rest, you have what you need in abundance, even abundance peace and rest in the storm! An overflow of Joy!
In His Word, you find rest like that baby in the midst of so many noises and challenges and was not moved.
Your condition is not your position. Your present condition might be in the midst of the raging storm, but your position is in the rest he has provided for you.
Will you also rest in Him like that little baby?
