Matthew 6:28 – 29;

“And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: and yet I say unto you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.”

Do we all remember the story of Solomon?

Solomon was the son of David, the psalmist. He was the “Aderopo” (replacement) of the first child birthed to David by Bathsheeba since the former died.

Solomon was a young man who loves God and followed Him rightly. He pays his tithes and offerings, he worships God, he offers sacrifices, he gives also.

God met Solomon at Gibeon and asked him what he wants Him to do for him, he responded with “Wisdom” which is the principal thing. God was surprised he didn’t ask for wealth nor riches nor fame, He honoured his request and added wealth and fame.

Solomon judged a case of two harlots fighting over a child and his judgement portrayed a great wisdom, the whole kingdom were amazed at his wisdom, they never knew it was a Divine wisdom working in a human.

Solomon was arrayed in beautiful linen, he was awesome to behold and handsome, fair looking and you know every lady’s eye catch.

Now, let’s talk about Lily, not sister Lily o…

Lily is a very beautiful flower, it is a work of nature.

Lilies grow in the field, no one changes their raiment, no one feeds them, they don’t toil, they don’t go to school, they don’t spin, they can’t even talk, but our God is awesome! You know why? They are always beautiful and well kept.

These lilies are more arrayed than all of the glories and riches of Solomon! Isn’t that wow? Yes it is, God takes care of his own.

Now, what am I saying? You need this, you need that, where are you turning to? Who are you turning to?

Man or God?

If God can be making raiments for the flowers, common flowers, why would he forsake you, a whole human?

Do not be anxious about anything. What you will wear, what you will eat, what you will become, what you will… (fill it in)

Madam Pejumola bought new clothes and never wore them. Why? She died.

Daddy Memuna stacked his store with foodstuffs because of the future but never ate them. Why? The store burnt.

Opeyemi the twelve years old young girl wanted to become a medical doctor, but couldn’t. Why? Her dreams were punctured when she got pregnant.

Don’t misunderstand me, it is beautiful to have a dream, but who is anchoring your dream? You or God? The motive behind everything matter.

Trust in Him. He is the only one you can trust that will not fail you nor betray your trust.
