In a man’s walk with God, willingness alone isn’t sufficient although it is the first condition. A man who desires to walk with Him must depend solely on Him–through the Holy Spirit–not on mortal strength which will fail.

You must be broken before Him, admit your weaknesses, and depend on the Holy Spirit to help you if will ever be free from the struggles.

Are you struggling with masturbation, smoking, lying, stealing? Hear me, you are not yet doomed. Your end has not come yet unless you think you can do it on your own or come out of the clutches by yourself.

You can give it a trial and you’ll be so frustrated. Why? Your willpower can do nothing. That’s why He gave you the Holy Spirit–our Helper and Strengthener–to always help in our lowest moments and strengthen us in our weakest moments and points.

I have tried these times without number, but the harder I try to do it on my strength and intellect, the harder it gets. The struggles become worsen and unbearable. But the moment I ask Him to help me out, it becomes like magic because I don’t know how I’m able to stop what I’ve been struggling with over the years.

You must understand that God is all-knowing. He knows that His demands on your life can’t be fulfilled by your self that is why He gave the Holy Spirit.

No wonder He told His disciples, “…but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high” (Luke 24:49).

Even though there was a matter of urgency to get lives saved, transformed, and aligned to God, He knew that urgency doesn’t produce results. Results are produced when there is empowerment.

How long will you continue to struggle with your infirmities when a helper is awaiting you? Apostle Paul explains it better, he said “The Spirit also helpeth our infirmities” (Romans 8:26).

Stop trying to quit smoking, stealing, lying, fornication, immoral thoughts, and cheating by yourself.

Just acknowledge your weaknesses and ask for help for He is our very present help in times of need.
